NOW in its 24th year, the 2015 Bowen Family Fishing Classic and Wet Weekend is the biggest family fishing competition in the country. Held along Bowen’s Front Beach at the Soundshell and Festival Park, the event not only offers anglers the chance to compete for a host of fantastic prizes – it provides the whole family with the opportunity to play and be entertained over an entire weekend at the Top of the Whitsundays.
The Classic, as it is rather affectionately known, has become an icon in fishing, entertainment, and family fun, for it is the entire Bowen community which makes this event special, whether it is the dedicated team of volunteers who work year-round planning the event, or the National, Regional and Local Businesses who donate the host of prizes on offer, including Senior and Junior boat packages as a lucky nomination draw.
